Disclosures and Disclaimers
Here’s our disclosures and disclaimers so that you know how we cover our expenses in running this website via profits generated through affiliate links. We also want to comply with the applicable Federal Trade Commission rules and regulations (see https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/advertising-and-marketing/online-advertising-and-marketing) for more information. If you have any questions please let us know by emailing us at info at positivelysustainable.com.
Affiliate Links An affiliate link is used by companies to record the traffic that is sent to their specific website, usually a product or service web page. When a consumer click on a link, a “promo code,” or a “discount code” on this website and the consumer purchases a product or service, we get paid a referral fee or also called an “affiliate commission.”
Not all the links on our website are affiliate links. Sometimes we want to refer you to a great website where there is other awesome information for you to consume. Other times, products are excellent but the referring website doesn’t have a referral fee program set up, but the products are worth mentioning. But some links we could generate a monetary commission from. How much we do earn varies by the product purchase price and by referring website program. It’s not much, but it can cover our operating expense and therefore we wanted to let you know.
We try to be as objective as possible in reviewing the products, but informing you that we may receive monetary compensation if you click on the link and purchase a product that we recommend is what we sometimes do.
The good news is that an affiliate link does not affect your purchase price at all.
All of our links currently are through the Amazon Associate Program. Amazon is a very trusted website with great consumer prices and returns policy. Any links going to an Amazon page you should assume is an affiliate link.
Here’s our Amazon Disclosure:
Positively Sustainable is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for websites to earn referral/advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. If you purchase a product via those links through Amazon, they will pay us a referral fee.
Free Products
Sometimes, manufacturers send us free products to review. In most cases, this does not significantly impact how we rate or review a product. We promise to be as unbiased as we can be.
Use this Website as a Starting Point
Even though we spend a tremendous amount of time in researching products when we publish a review or guide, the choice is yours, and your decision to purchase a product or service should aligns most with your unique needs, rather than going by the order in which we have listed the products. We also encourage you to read about how we may research and/or test products (learn more here). The information on this website should only be a starting point used to help guide you in your own research.

Updates to Our Website
We update published content regularly. Updated pages generally have the date the page was last modified. Some updates are just to correct grammatical errors and may not be substantive in nature. You should also keep in mind that we may make updates (including substantive updates) to certain pages first, before we update the same or similar content located on other pages.
